This week at a glance:

  • I stayed on my crazy diet
  • We dropped off Ian at the airport and he went to New Zealand, his cat misses him. Okay, I miss him.
  • My inlaws flew in for a visit, we went to Fort Clatsop and I bought a couple of mugs Jephael had designed. It was interesting to talk to people with different world views.
  • I went to Ilwaco with Ian and met a couple of artists which really inspired me to get to painting with my oils
  • I developed sinusitis which shows up this time each year, which is why I got up at 4am – the headache is always worse in the morning.
  • I road my bicycle a couple of times
  • I beat orange stake on Balatro
  • There was a presidential debate and it involved ‘killing newborn babies, eating dogs and cats and socialism. – it was a real banger. Neither candidate was confident and smooth / at ease on stage. Harris seemed to go with piling lie after lie onto Trump faster than he could dig out and doing salad speech in an incoherent way until he gave up. He should have smoothly turned that to his advantage and I wanted some sort of pacification and unification – some way to unite the country again and that didn’t seem to happen at all unfortunately. Debate is difficult but I think that’s the presidents main job as a figurehead because they always have to deal with strong people with sometimes extreme personalities but that’s probably a very naive viewpoint of a peasant. Sometimes I feel like Trump just has the one gear and we need someone more dynamic, I’m concerned about his age – he’s been really worn down and he looks tired. I can’t follow Harris when she talks, I’ll just be honest, she jumps topics and shoves things together in odd ways. It sounds to me like salad speech but maybe if I was her fan it would suddenly become clear to me what she meant, idk.
  • I have bell peppers in my fridge going on three weeks still beautiful, huge and red. They’re embalmed. They just don’t rot. I put one outside over a week ago now and it’s still there. I’ll go check on it tomorrow but nothing eats these things. I usually eat a bell pepper per day, it may be why I got sick. I stopped eating them of course. This was an organic pepper from Freddies I believe and it was not marked as having apeel or organipeel applied but it must have.
  • Everyone is so unhealthy. I was thinking back to when I was a teenager and my friends and I hung out and we were so vital, so healthy looking compared to today’s teens. You never saw people looking like dough left out on a radiator, it’s not just that people are fat they’re oddly shaped, depressed, lethargic, dull hair / eyes / skin, and their hormones are fucked. Why are we not discussing this as a nation? Why have we let this happen to the kids? Again, I’m just a peasant. We didn’t eat healthy in the 80’s but we were light years healthier. It’s so sad.
