I’ve had the idea for some time that they’re broadcasting a frequency just under the range of audible conscious hearing. Sometimes I find myself listening to it, trying to make out what it says. Today I was well and good in the wilderness, middle of nowhere and it was so silent. The silence was heavy like an old-fashioned quilt. At home I was trying to figure out why it had been so unusual – but the silence. The silence was so present…hmm. Anyway I’m sleep-deprived, don’t listen to me.

Another lazy summer rolls out on the Oregon Coast

I was able to get in a good bicycle ride this week of a little over 13 miles and the foxglove (pink flowers in the photo) are lovely this year. They go off like fireworks, and slowly they’ll die back bloom by bloom like a fading sparkler and late summer will arrive, and they’ll be gone. But for now, wow, what a show.

A pair of iridescent barn swallows are nesting under my room over hang and have built a nice little mud home. They are taking turns sitting on eggs at the moment.

Neighborhood was quiet this week too, or at least not burning down. The elk are starting to calve and are cranky. That’s about all I guess. I did a lot of yard work and caught up a lot of projects. Everything looks nice outside front / back. I was able to fill up most of my raised garden beds, and I’m going to put some flowers in there.

When polled, 4/5 cats said this was a relaxing home and they would visit it again for the ambiance, canned cat food and old soft chairs.
This house used to be better back when they had one good orange cat and none of the others…

Kidney Stone

I have a kidney stone on my left side and every so often it gives me a zing so painful it knocks the wind out of me. Thank God it’s just a winge, and then I’m okay, because damn, it hurts. With current inflation and things going the way they are going (cue stockpiling beans), I sure don’t want to have to visit and stay at the US hospital. Ugh. I need to do the McDougall diet for a while and lose this fat and lose my kidney stone.

We’re probably in a space war over our heads – I’m pretty sure of it – and our country is losing money like it’s being siphoned off into a black hole while Washington’s official stance is that nothing at all is awry (sure sign we’re fucked folks) – so uh’ yeah, where is this all headed?

Anyway, we might move, we’re looking around. It’s very expensive and see: hoarding beans.
