This week me and the kids went to Ilwaco to view the crab pot Christmas Tree which was outstanding this year. We hit a dense fog bank, witnessed a ‘fog-bow’ like rainbow but in fog, and had a great day.

We went to the pub for lunch and I had a plant burger and fries.

It was a clear and sunny day outside after days of heavy rain and multiple atmospheric rivers.

We went shopping at the bookstore and we all found books. JJ and I visited with local artist Mr. Nesbit and I found it really inspiring. Maybe I’ll pick up a brush again. I really like his artwork. We wrapped up with going over to Longbeach for pastries and coffee at Dylan’s Bakery. Perfect holiday outing I think.

We’ve had stunning sunrises. I didn’t edit this – it was crazy.

Man at the Door

I feel like I’ve told this story too many times and I’m ready to move on, but last week a very strange fellow came to the door claiming to sell home improvement – siding, windows, entire rooms repaired, new bathrooms – literally anything. I heard someone trying the door, thought it was JJ. Then it knocked, a casual knock, so I shouted — ‘coming..!’ and I opened the door and it wasn’t J, it was this guy. I went out and shut the door behind me and he couldn’t see in not only because I shut the door but that door has a mirrored cling on it anyway.

He tried to talk me into letting him inside, then he started getting upset and it sorta — I don’t know hit a flash point I suppose, where his demeanor and the look on his face changed and I thought, well, here we go don’t we?

So I backed into my door, let myself in and locked it.

The whole thing could be avoided however with proper signage and a ‘peeper’ which I’ve wanted for some time, so yesterday J installed the peeper and I’ve put up 2 notices of no trespass and I’m putting up no soliciting as well.

He didn’t fit in out here. He had that military / fed vibe.

A couple of days later when we got home I realized the camera on the front was missing. It didn’t work anyway, but it’s gone.

And one last thing – it was raining buckets – I had a hoodie on and I didn’t care – but this guy was on foot and he didn’t have a car parked anywhere I could see it. He also only came to my house, not my neighbors.

Collecting Books

I received a couple of new art books this week, my own copy of 1984 and have some other goodies arriving. I’m getting a proper library going.
