Both kitties are now spayed and have their shots. They’re doing great. I bought a new bookshelf to make room on my desk for them to sprawl and supervise. There are 3 very pregnant deer outside today so hopefully this spring we have a good turn out of baby mule deer. Last year we didn’t have any babies make it.
Last time I failed on my Vegan diet because I couldn’t digest anything. I became weaker and weaker until my words slurred and I couldn’t get out of bed. After that I was like – hang it, it doesn’t work, I’ll be low-carb! Then I developed bad arthritis, potentially gout as my big toe killed me, and I couldn’t digest anything + I had diverticulitis and a ton of pain. Long story short.
At the healthfood store I found some enzymes and so far – they’ve worked. They’re under the Dr. Axe brand, whoever that is. I bought his ‘green drink’ stuff and individual enzymes + fructaid + beano — so all in all, between everything, I can more or less…sometimes less…digest food.
In addition to the enzymes I have a Now brand B12 “ENGERY” packet per day or 2 per day — and it works. It’s impressive.
My morning was struggling to breathe though, I had such bad bronchial spasms I couldn’t catch my breath, I was coughing and I vomited all over my stationary bike. My lungs always feel like they are full of fiberglass insulation. Middle of my back hurts incredibly bad. My digestion is better though – no blockages (fingers crossed).
I’m back at McDougall because I trust Pritikin (and just like the man), and I trust McDougall and sometimes a persons health is so absolutely fucked – you gotta do something bold. You can’t keep doing the same old shit. McDougall said in one of his lectures, “I bet most of you don’t know who Nathan Pritikin is” — Oh I know Nathan Pritikin. I’ve read both his original books and they sit on my shelf. But again: I can’t digest anything so there is that.
Anyway, yeah I’ll give this a go.
Update: stopping the digestive enzymes as I think that mixture from Dr. Axe is making my breathing quite difficult and asthmatic even.
