I have come to realize that heirloom beefsteak tomatoes are huge/tall. They grow quickly. I have no frickin’ idea where I’m going to put these!! It is six weeks before they go outside. Cue panic and giving these away.
Today I went and ran trail, which surprised me. Last time I needed a walking stick, but I guess things have improved a little although I was still fairly slow. My chest was tight and painful sometimes along the run. Sometimes I get worried something will happen if I push it, the phrase which must not be uttered in 2023, ‘died suddenly’. The paramedic said my heart looked strong on the EKG, but… I guess I really suspect it’s a bit wack from the rona. My VO2Max is quite low. Almost the lowest.
For my birthday my kids took me to coffee, and then my Son took me to the aquarium to feed the seals which I had never done before. They were really wonderful! The weather was unusually nice, as we’ve been getting storms still and cold nights. I saw two black military helicopters this week and some sort of slow moving ‘flying wing’ plane that made this incredible sort of base sound that rattled my house (which made me go outside and look). I was perplexed at the loud baritone engine noise – yet it moved so casually / slowly. Internet was no help there, although it turns out the Blackhawks were in total probability the coast guard, who are buying a few gently used military helicopters to replace their aging fleet of helicopters.
We get F15 training days over my house, coast guard and civilian air traffic. Leer jets fly in sometimes. In my entire life though – the flying wing was really unusual. It was dark so I didn’t get a great look at it but it had the typical green / red / white running lights of a US aircraft, i.e. not a UFO or something more exotic, probably a test plane.
