Health Emergencies, Too fucking cold but the ice brings a gift to the birds, plus this week in strange astral phenomenon

“I can’t prescribe you medicine. You’re textbook normal.” – Doctor Barbara

Pokemon Go Postcard — so cool

It was last Sunday night, I was cooking dinner for everyone and making J’s lunch when I started feeling a tremendous pressure in my neck. My chest hurt. I felt really bad. I finished supper and took my blood pressure. I don’t recall exactly but it was around 165 / 97 — pressure was intensifying. J was eating but told him we better go to the walk-in clinic as I think I was having a medical emergency. I hate going to the doctor, so volunteering to go is an odd deal for me, let me tell you.

I got to the doctors and they actually rushed me right back. They skipped the scale and other stuff and went straight to taking my blood pressure. I was like: what is it? “Do you really want to know?” This confused me. See I’ve never had high blood pressure in any sort of range to be concerned about. It got up around 135 when I was moving and I was concerned but it went back down so I forgot about it for the last couple of years. He kept hemming and hawing… no man, what is it? 196 / 112

I wait a minute….excuse me….I think I heard you wrong…I thought I heard you say 196….

Yes.

Well fuck. But there it was. I have hypertension. Tommy and Tony talked to me for a long while. Seems that hypertension was part of my life that I would have to manage now. I tried not to think of how my Mom passed at age 54 from complications of hypertension that would, you know, spike unexpectedly.

It was Sunday. All the pharmacies were closed. They had no pills or shots to give me. They stayed late to see if it would come down on it’s own and I left with it in the high 150’s eventually. Staying late at work on a Sunday night, well – that was very nice of them.

I couldn’t get in to see a doctor until Tuesday. At which point the daytime rush was on, they had a broken x-ray, forgot my prescription for a heart monitor, I never received the results of my blood work, I didn’t get a follow up appointment and I didn’t get diagnosed with hypertension. They warned me my blood pressure may be high from being in the clinic. 120 / 70. Textbook perfect she said very confused. Did you drink an energy beverage? Take meth? Get shocking horrible news? no, no, nope…just cooking on an average slow relaxing Sunday night.

Still have no idea what that was. (Goes and Googles… https://www.medicinenet.com/pheochromocytoma/article.htm

Hu it’s probably this since my Mom had the same thing happen. In fact she was in the hospital on blood pressure medicine and it spiked into the 200s and they couldn’t get it under control for hours. If I have a tumor or issue on my adrenal glands, could explain the fatigue.

BIRDS GET A HOLIDAY

Recent bit of ice was a boon for local birds

I noticed on Wednesday that there was birdseed all over the parking lots. I wondered at first if some crazy bird lover had taken pity on the Brewer’s Black Birds and Crows that always cruise the lot for scraps – but it turns out that in recent years bird seed is a popular way to combat slick spots. So congratulation birds!

WEATHER PHENOMENON

unedited photo of the moon

All around the country and the world atmospheric natural phenomenon have been recorded, along with but I’m sure not connected, an unusual amount of high atmospheric aerosol dispersion. This is a photo of the moon I took that had an ice ring around. Icy rings around the moon I’ve seen most of my life but this one was quite distant from the center. Other atmospheric reports is a world wide ‘sun dog’ spotting and a rare ‘mother of pearl cloud’ in Scotland.

That’s all for the week. I hope I survive to write in next week.
