This week I ordered in Salmon Oil & Marshmallow Root for my friend and kitty cat Poutou. I limited his canned food to 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at 5pm. The morning also has a multi-vitamin mixed in. The rest of the time he is free to eat some Iams dry kibble for ‘coat health’ meant for long-haired kitties but I figure he could use it.
He’s sleeping better, I think he coat feels a little better, but it’s early days.
Because he’s always cold I’ve had heating blankets going for him, and we’ve been letting him in the bedroom at night to have a warm spot.
I made Tiramisu this week
I’ve longed for this dessert for three years, and each year I am thwarted by finding ingredients. This year I was lucky and was able to assemble everything, huzzah! It was amazing (of course). I also probably…ate too much. Although anytime I have dairy my energy level picks up, I can’t explain it but if I feel run down and can’t move and am in a fatigue state – dairy helps. Note: I can’t actually digest most dairy. I don’t get it. I’ve never eaten dairy.
Jason bought me a new stationary bike for Christmas with Zwift integration. I took a heck of a hit on my watts and my progress — but — it was a very good workout and will help me get ready for the events ahead.
I have signed up for some events.
I signed up for a 7 mile trail run in March.
I signed up for a Duathlon in April, 5k + 12 mile run + 5k
“hey isn’t that the event you said you were going to do three years ago before you ever got on a spin bike, a real bike or lived beside a trail where you could ride??” Yeah. It’s been on the radar.
Other runs I want to do is St. Helen’s and Elk King — going to take a lot of work to get there.
The Weeks’ Workouts:
I had 3 solid days of seizure activity and my brain still feels like a snow globe that hasn’t settled. I don’t even frickin’ remember wtf I did this week. If anything. Let me examine the notebook.
6 Days in the gym on elliptical workouts, 2 Zwift workouts
Big storm last Saturday moved in and it’s been very cold. Have not made it outside or to the park.
Moral of the story is if I stay on protein shakes with L-Glutamine / N-A-G –> I can keep the colitis at bay. I don’t know why and I don’t think it’s healthy. protein shakes are just processed fucking shit. *sigh* They taste okay initially but God damn, stay on them for awhile and you’ll start to prefer anything else than those. Plain Whey is even worse, it’s nasty. I rather just not get colitis attacks. Why do I have to drink that shit to be able to get out of a chair? I suppose my body is probably burning the amino-acids for energy rather than fat and rather than glycogen.
Last month I did not have any seizures.
This week has sucked. I don’t feel like I got anything accomplished. I feel really behind and frustrated, but also unfocused and like my head is full of bees.
Was it the amino acids in the shakes triggering the seizures? I don’t know — I have a lot of colitis issues. I’m starting a new ‘diet’ after I.F. really hasn’t brought home the win. I don’t burn my own body fat for shit – metabolically I’m broken but I’m almost fucking 50 years old on a really pollution rich existence. Going old school fasting, Greek Orthodox fasting a few days a week. I hope it will help my energy level. I’m asking a whole lot of my body right now.
Typically it’s hormonal shifts that trigger my seizures btw.
Okay — I’m out. Until next week.
