30 minutes on Zwift this morning but it took it out of me. Ended it with a little bowl of soup and a nap until 2pm. I got up and had some lunch and am about to go back to bed.
I don’t have a fever anymore, but my lungs are stuffed full of cotton and I get weak / dizzy and sick feeling if I stand up for more than a few minutes at a time.
I developed the fever and illness back on the 12th, so it is going on being a minute that I’ve been sick.
Yesterday I noticed I had lost my sense of taste and smell. I can hold vinegar up to my nose and not detect even a hint of vinegar, or any smell at all. It’s a nifty party trick. Makes cooking a bit difficult.
We’ve all pitched in to do a chore or two everyday. I did dishes yesterday and I usually do one load of laundry a day.
I’ve started eating kinda normally again and my chest has gone back to tight and hurting. I wonder if Covid causes heart issues as that was what I first noticed, and a friend of a friend went to the hospital with a heart attack and there found out he had Covid-19.
Those who had had covid-19 had a 72% increased risk of heart failure, 63% increased risk of heart attack, and 52% increased risk of stroke compared with controls.
The researchers wrote that the increased risks “were evident regardless of age, race, sex, and other cardiovascular risk factors, including obesity, hypertension, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, and hyperlipidemia; they were also evident in people without any cardiovascular disease before exposure to covid-19, providing evidence that these risks might manifest even in people at low risk of cardiovascular disease.” However, the way covid-19 infection might cause cardiovascular problems remains unclear, they said.

At the moment it is very difficult to either eat a ‘heart healthy’ diet, or to work out and increase demand on the heart muscle. But with luck, when I regain some of my strength I will be able to gradually improve my over all health.
