When I was on a business trip with the husband I was so scared about what my GI would do without the careful management and – gasp – emergency access to supplements like Slippery Elm – when it flared. But guess what, on a diet of utter shit, it got better.

I had donuts, bad hotel coffee and creamer, skittles, cola, and McD’s every night. When I returned home I couldn’t even feel my GI. It was amazing. It’s hard to be on a low-carb-ish diet and be good when my GI hurts, I just want Cokes and Skittles – not real food.

My blood sugar levels were ‘better’ but as soon as the flare started they went way back up, so I suspect a lot of my high blood sugar is inflammation from my gut.

I did go run today, a 5k at Ft. Clatsop with the husband. I met him 14 years today. It has been amazing. <3
