This week in exercise – 3 mile trail run on Thursday. Bike ride on Wednesday with a trip to the beach. Late friday was a major power outage that lasted for eighteen hours. We did have emergency supplies for heating and making food and some battery backup.
The drugglers pulled in a portable jenny on the back of a rather nice pickup truck — not the kind of thing a person sees getting hooked up to a 1968 abandoned double wide. They ran it all night until the power came back on. They had the generator going by the time we returned to find the power off, so they acted rapidly. Now….what the fuck is in that trailer house that requires a $10,000 generator deployed with haste? I didn’t know they had power to the trailer.
Speaking of power….I’ve had quite a bit more energy recently. Even eating sugar seems okay, I just can’t eat any grains or all bets are off. So when the power went down we had the cook stove and I made a steak, but I made extra for everyone but I was the only person who ate it. I think the family is sick of meat and fat.
I eat my fill of butter and meat and everyday wake up less puffy, less sick and thinner. It’s absolutely baffling. I have plenty of carbs, I eat an apple a day with peanut butter – I ate a Costco ice cream sunday after the run but it almost seems not to matter as long as all grains are ashewed. I know the dogmatic, “well when you cut out a food group, you naturally eat fewer calories” but that’s bullshit – I’m eating meat topped with butter. I’m eating to satiety every single time. I’m eating snacks. I’m having sugar. I’m still losing weight.
I have had some back and joint pain and if kinda feels like my spine is dissolving – I’ll need to work on that. A lot. It hurts. That might be the fact I can’t quit sugar or dairy. Dairy in the past has caused joint pain.
The Book Was Wrong
I read a really intriguing post this week.
A man lived on meat for 47 years, meat alone. Albeit he had organ meat, bone marrow and a variety of things which probably kept him from scurvy. The problem I had with his post was – it all made sense in a way that everything else had been bothering me. If he was right … well, I looked up Biology 101 textbook about the Krebs cycle and how much more energy is locked away in fat versus carbohydrate, like 30x more according to the book. The body is fueled on saturated fat. Period. But then a few pages over it starts in on the importance of carbohydrate to energy. WTF. It barely pings the energy scale, mostly it’s just running up insulin on a flagpole and a little tiny bit helps transport fats (glycerine). Idk, I always thought I had trouble with the Krebs cycle because I was stupid, and it had not dawned on me that it was because it contradicted in several key points and obfuscated something really tremendously important.
Could the powers that be smear facts in science books to keep everyone no knowing how shit works for decade after decade? I turn 50 this week. I remember decades of them going, are cigarettes harmful? It’s impossible to know!
Remember the Nurses Health study? When I was a vegan that was brought up a lot. It laid groundwork for wide spread HRT, it allowed them to hide a lot of cancer cases for a very long time. The vegans still refer to the Nurses Health study, “The study has been instrumental in shaping public health recommendations, contributing to policies on diet, exercise, and hormone therapy.” It was devastating. It’s a good example of bad science or science to control an unsuspecting population.
I don’t know what the damn truth is on nutrition except we all get too much plastic in our diet and it’s crossing the blood brain barrier – you know, it seems like every fucking thing crosses that ‘impenetrable barrier’ more junk science. Anyway, saturated fat kills, eat more of it.
Attempting it on my cats…
I have three overweight felines in my life, one elderly. So if this fat / protein hypothesis is correct, why not try it out on a few of my obligate carnivore friends. I invested in an order of mostly meat / fat cat food with very low carbs and no grains. I’m going to see if it impacts the cats for better or worse. Before I start, I will log their weight and take measurements and track what I feed them. We’ll see what happens.
On my elderly tomcat, I have tried many interventions over the years to get his weight under control and he’s as solid as a Christmas ham. He was 16lbs last I weighed him and he’s otherwise a medium frame / build cat, not large like a mancoon or something.

** sorry for all the typos. I have very bad vision. Yes I change settings, they get changed back, the battle to see things: endless.
